Limited Edition Wheatfield Miniatures by Peter Layton
In 2013 the National Gallery invited Peter Layton to select a painting from their collection to interpret in glass. Peter was particularly inspired by the skies in many paintings and eventually chose ‘Wheatfield’ by Vincent Van Gogh.
It took months of experimenting with different kinds of dramatic skies and different ways of portraying the wheatfield in the foreground, and eventually combining two separately blown elements to achieve the desired effect. The pieces have been very well received in both our gallery and in the National Gallery shop.
Peter has now agreed to release a stunning jewel-like miniature version of this series. This limited edition of only fifty signed pieces is offered, in a special presentation box at £420 each.
Each miniature is beautifully hand crafted. The image you see here is an example of the shape and colour of this piece. The miniature you will receive will be unique, and as close to the example image as possible.
